Day 29 Wrightsville beach, NC

Today we started with good iced coffee at Wrightsville Beach public docks. It was already super hot and sticky and it looked like every visitor just came from hot yoga.  While we were sitting in the a/c enjoying our iced coffee, Sedona texted and offered to take us to Planet Fitness.  Remembering how ice cold they keep those gyms I nearly jumped off my chair.

Sedona met us at the public dock and we climbed in.  By now I am out of clean laundry so I went to the gym in flip flops, swimming trunks and a top.  Fortunately, being so close to the ocean, no one notices or cares.  Certainly after a month at sea, I don’t care.  I found a corner spot and a mat and listened to relaxing music while I tried to stretch out the kinks from living in a moving vessel and sleeping on hard mattresses.

After a good workout for them and a lazy stretch for me we stopped at Sedona’s to let her dog out for a quick walk and to shop for provisions.  In the beginning we bought a lot of rice and ramen and veggies to fry, etc. but with this heat we are now buying salad veggies, chips, hardy fruit, bread with pb&j, and tons of water.  John got a bottle of rum, which is probably a good idea living in 200 sq ft with two sisters.

Once the boat was restocked, we headed to the best little private beach in Wrightsville.  It was a small bit of sand amoung the sea grass and although I was afraid of being eaten by an alligator as any New Englander would be, I jumped right in.  We floated for a bit enjoying the cool water temperature and then sat in our beach chairs and watched the tide roll in.

As our little slice of heaven got smaller and smaller we were forced off our island and back in the dinghy.  Balancing all of our beach chairs, umbrellas, and bodies we ducked under the bridge which had shrunk with the tide.  John dropped us at the docks so Carrie and I could take showers at Sedona’s house and get some laundry done while he returned to Irish Eyes.

Our time at Wrightsville Beach was coming to an end but we were taking a little bit of sunshine from her as Sedona will be traveling with us for the next few days.

Day who knows Charleston, SC

We have now biked to the big bridge twice. It is 12 miles round trip along the water and through downtown. I am used to the East Coast Green...
