We woke at Canyon Club Marina with beautifully cloudy weather which kept us cool for a while. Michael and I got work done while Carrie and John texted each other endlessly about bigger boats they found. Perhaps 200 square feet is too small for them?
Once we got our work done and were all cleaned up we got a ride to Washington Mall. This is a whole community of stores in small building across the street from beautiful beaches. Just the buildings and people watching was enough to keep us happy all day but we still took it further by throwing in some fun shopping and ice cream eating.
There was a whole store dedicated to peanuts and we sampled everything. I spent my money in this shop as food is a little bit if an obsession of mine. I got dried peanut butter butterscotch mix, peanut coconut dressing, peanut butter straws, and yummy cookies. I don’t even know if the others bought anything because I was peanut butter delirious.
Another place had all spices and vinegars. We actually went there twice. They had delicious samples. Carrie got an amazing dill mustard dip and I bought a bottle of white coconut vinegar. I love flavored vinegar and put it in my seltzer and coffee as well as salads and desserts.
After a lovely time popping in and out of shops (mostly for their a/c) we returned to the marina for some rest and relaxation. Michael did more work while the rest of us walked the marina looking at boats. Eventually Carrie and I wound up by the pool while John walked to the local West Marine shop for supplies to fix the series of things that break when you are living on a boat.
After our rest we got cleaned up and headed back to the Washington Mall to meet our Aunt Pam and Uncle John at the Ugly Mug for an amazing dinner. They had been traveling all day but still took the time to meet with us and we were so grateful. It was a delicious dinner with awesome company spent talking about the future and reminiscing about the past.
Our Aunt Pam was young when we were born, only a teenager when Carrie came along, so she is very much an Aunt and a friend. Every morning Carrie, Aunt Pam and I play Wordle competitively and sent each other funny gif’s of either sarcasm or congratulations or a triple high five when we all tie. By the way, do not search gif’s for ‘three way tie’ unless you want an education. Just type in something like ‘three amigos’.
After dinner we walked to all of our favorite shops. Aunt Pam and Uncle John had their honeymoon in Cape May and had fond memories of all of the lights and horse drawn carriages and restaurants. As the sun started going down we all piled into their car and they brought us back to the boat. They climbed aboard to witness our very small living as we lamented not tidying up a bit more. We were very sad to say goodbye and so grateful they took the time out of a very busy day to meet with us.
As the night wore on we opened all of our amazon packages that we had shipped to their home and started finding spots to put our new tools for small living. Although maybe we will have more space soon with Carrie and John endlessly hunting for the next boat to see as we meander down the Inter Coastal Waterway.

Sounds like the perfect day.
